The factor :

Nuclear power today [in the USA ] provides about 20
percent of our electricity, but since electricity accounts for
only a fraction of our energy, nuclear power is really supplying
only 5.83 percent of our total energy.

20 per cent = 5.83
This is an up to date factor of per cent
output as of...... 02-07-05.

The original factor / data was this:
12 per cent = 3.50
This factor was dated 1979 when the nuclear power plants
only had an output of 12 % [=3.50]
