The Nuclear Project:
Posted below are news items from days past.

What if you had to evacuate:
As most of you know, Hurricane Frances hit the state of FL..
News reports say I - 95 had the largest evacuation in the state's history
with 2.8 million residents ordered inland. The interstate was jammed
w / traffic moving slow, bumper to bumper.

Now, if this was a melt down at any of the 103 nuclear reactors we have
here in the USA, how many people would really be able to evacuate
before they where hit by the advancing radiation?

plus, even more current is the Katrina hurricane,
not good, people trapped with no way out.

NEW ENERGY BILL:
Energy Bill Dumps $ 6 Billion in New Tax Credits
To The Nuclear Power Industry..........

Washington- Two new provisions in the energy conference report,
which just emerged from behind closed doors, would lavish more than
$ 6 billion to the nuclear power industry.

"It's outrageous that these new provisions would encourage more
radioactive waste production and allow dirty expensive nuclear power
plants the same tax credits as clean renewable energy,"
said Anna Aurilio, legislative director for U.S. PIRG.

"Even after 50 years of taxpayer handouts, the nuclear power industry
is still seeking more." states Erich Pica at Friends of the Earth.
